In Power BI, the "z-order" denotes the layering sequence of visual elements on a report page, dictating which visuals are displayed in front or behind others during overlap.


Here's an explanation of z-order in Power BI:


Front to Back: Visuals with a higher z-order are displayed in front of those with a lower order. If visuals overlap, the one with the higher z-order takes precedence.


Default Z-Order: Initially, the z-order is set by the sequence in which visuals are placed on the report page, with later additions usually appearing above earlier ones.


Modifying Z-Order: Power BI provides the functionality to adjust the z-order manually. Visuals can be moved to the forefront or background through the "Format" or "Arrange" options.


Context Menus: By right-clicking a visual, you can access z-order modification options, such as bringing it to the front or moving it to the back.


Layering: Effective z-order utilization is vital for the strategic layering of visuals, particularly in intricate reports with numerous overlapping components, ensuring key information remains unobstructed.
